One of IowaBio’s core purposes since its formation has been to foster Iowa’s vibrant talent pipeline. Iowa’s STEM students are a critical component to fuel our IowaBio member companies with a skilled workforce. Since 1994, IowaBio has contributed over $200,000 in STEM funding to students and teachers in Iowa.

IowaBio has formed a new STEM Committee to advise the IowaBio staff on STEM education and IowaBio’s long term and immediate STEM efforts, including scholarship giving, teacher stipends, STEM programming/events, and other STEM engagement. The committee meets ad hoc to give input when needed to the staff and IowaBio Board. A big thank you to our committee members for their engagement:
  • Emily Fuerst, R&D Director Crop Technologies, Kemin
  • Julie Gonzalez, Biology Professor & Biotechnology Program Chair, DMACC
