Monthly newsletter of Wahiawa United Methodist Church
Dear Church Family,
This past month was difficult with sustained high numbers of COVID-19 cases on Oahu, as well as the challenges of starting the school year online. Beaches and parks are closed, and we continue to worship from home. I know that the pandemic is taking a toll on us emotionally and financially.
As the report from our Finance Committee below indicates, our church has remained financially sustainable thanks to your gifts. We continue to live out our vision of sharing Christ's love through mission and service. Through everyone's generous donations at the Modlins' farewell, we donated a carload of much needed toiletries to ALEA Bridge. And thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Outreach Committee, our church is donating $500 to the Heifer International and $1,000 to Wahiawa Health this year in honor of Flo Maruyama. Last but not least, we recently fulfilled our annual commitment to support Faith Action thanks to Betty Ickes' and Doris Lee's faithful work with our altar flowers and your generous donations.
As we continue through this difficult time, continue to think of ways that you can live out your faith in the world. There are so many ways we can share God's love.
Many blessings, Pastor Jessica

Church Financial Update
This is an update from your Finance Committee on the status of the church's finances for 2020. The budgeted income so far is right on target (minus the Spring Fair income) thanks to our faithful congregation. Bless you all!
So, all in all, we are in good financial shape thus far.
A friendly reminder, September is "Give Aloha" month from Foodland and our church is again participating. The match from "Give Aloha" is a welcome income to our church. So please make your contribution, instructions below.
Thank you and stay healthy,
