Dear Church Family,
I hope you are taking care. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. For now, our Reopening Task Force has decided that we will continue to worship online. In the meantime, please encourage the people in your lives to get vaccinated. It is a concrete way that we can demonstrate our love for our neighbor.
October is Honolulu Pride! Mia Murasaki created a beautiful mini float for this year's virtual parade and Jay filmed a fabulous video for us. Stay tuned for details on how you can vote for our church in the best float competition!
This month, our Reconciling Ministries Task Force will also host a special training with Rev. Denyse Barnes from the California-Pacific Conference. She will teach us practical ways that we can affirm LGBTQ+ people in our lives. I hope you will join and share the invitation.
Last but not least, check out the Congregational Care Committee's Halloween do-it-yourself kit! Reserve yours by October 14. You won't want to miss out!

The Congregational Care Committee (CCC) is offering another family fun DIY activity for Halloween! The deadline for reserving your kit is Thursday, October 14. Contact Chuck at chuckxgan@yahoo.com, 808-772-6002 (cell), or 808-623-2437 (home). The kit will include instructions, a "OUI" jar pumpkin to decorate, and all the fixings to make SLIME! Drive by church to pick up your kits on Sunday, October 24, between 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Many church members joined with the larger community to commemorate International Peace Day. Thank you to Rosie, Susan, and the Missions Committee for your leadership!
