Dear Church Family,
Thanks to your generosity, our congregation continues to remain vibrant and healthy. We appreciate your patience as we adjust to hybrid worship and invest in audio technology critical for our future. I am grateful to Jameson for his technical expertise and Gary for his generous donation of new microphones for the sanctuary. Thank you to Janis, Corky, Lori, Bob, Chuck, Doris, Edna, and our counters for their volunteer support!
It is with great joy that I introduce Caryn Fukuda, who will be joining our church staff this month as Director of Family and Youth Ministries. Ms. Fukuda looks forward to getting to know our kids and teens. Please join me in offering her a warm welcome!
I invite you to join us for a membership / Methodism 101 class this Saturday, February 5 at 6 p.m. on Zoom. It will be a great chance to learn more about The United Methodist Church and what we're all about.

Pastor Piula and Wesley UMC will be collecting donations of clothes, personal hygiene items, furniture, and working appliances to send to Tonga. They will post updates on their website (wesleyumchawaii.org). The Cal-Pac Conference is also collecting financial contributions. For more details, go to calpacumc.org/tonganrelief.
We are looking for church members to sponsor altar flowers for Sunday worship! It is a wonderful way to honor a loved one or celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Please contact Jay in the church office if you would like to reserve a date for 2022. You can bring your own flowers or order an arrangement through a local florist.
Also, Betty Ickes is always looking for people to donate flowers from their yard. If you're interested, please text her at 808-352-0608 with the header "WUMC Flowers."
We are super excited to welcome Caryn Fukuda to join our staff as the Director of Family and Youth Ministries! In the coming months, Ms. Fukuda will be relaunching our activities for elementary, middle, and high school students. She can't wait to meet all of you!
Born in Tokyo and raised in Mililani, Ms. Fukuda has traveled around the world and come full circle, only to find that what she was searching for has been here all along. She currently teaches middle school English and is finishing up her Masters in Christian Spirituality and Formation at Regent University.
The following chart shows the Non-Pledged and Pledged Contributions the church received for the year 2021. The total amount contributed for the year 2021 is $175,666, which is higher than the annual budget total of $133,000. The total amount contributed in 2020 was $157,094. Thank you very much for your generous contributions and support to our church’s mission and ministry. May God continue to watch over you and keep you all safe.

Join United Methodist Women and partners for the "Breathe Again: Healthy Air is Health Care" event on Thursday and Friday, February 17 and 18 from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday will be a "Train the Trainer" event to learn more about the issues surrounding air pollution, the climate crisis and the public health impact; connect with other people working on air pollution in your state; and learn how to train others on these issues. Friday’s "Day of Action" will provide an opportunity to participate in collective action as together we will call our elected officials and ask them to take action!
