LATEST NEWSLETTER

At this time of uncertainty and turmoil, we all need points of unchanging constancy. For this reason, we decided that, come hell or high water (both of which have reputedly been found beneath the Grand Pier), we would continue to produce a weekly newsletter.

Open the link below to see this week’s edition, including a short reflection on this Sunday’s Gospel by Canon Tom, and a summary of Joseph Meigh’s video on the Rededication of England as Mary’s Dowry, which takes place tomorrow (Sunday 29th).

We’ve also produced a video & pictures of the Stations of the Cross from Corpus Christi & Our Lady of Lourdes, to help you celebrate that devotion at home. Scroll down to find out more!

ACTION STATIONS
Canon Tom Gunning leads the Stations of the Cross from Corpus Christi. The stations are taken from the book by Sr Beda Brooks, a Benedictine nun of the Bavarian Abbey of St Walburg, Eichstätt.
We’ve also uploaded picture galleries of the Stations from both Corpus Christi and Our Lady of Lourdes churches, to use with your own private devotions. Many thanks to Peter Ottley for the photographs. Find them at corpuschristiweston.org/stations - or via the link on the Coronavirus page.

YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS
Canon Tom is still saying a daily Mass in private, and remembering the needs and intentions of everyone in our parishes. Mass intentions are still being offered as they have been requested – see the newsletter for details.

KEEP SMILING
Probably many of us can relate to that sentiment! But let’s not forget, Lent isn’t just about giving things up. It’s about allowing God into the space in our lives they leave behind.

Many people are discovering wonderful uses for the enforced extra time indoors – from clobbering clutter to learning languages. But for us Christians, let it also be an opportunity to enter more deeply into the solitude of the desert, which Lent always invites us to experience.

Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving are the three hallmarks of Lent, and perhaps it’s worth thinking about how this situation enables us to put them into practice in a new and deeper way?
Don’t forget to have a look at our newsletter – if you are nearby to a parishioner who may not have email, consider printing it off for them, or let us know their address so that we can post it to them.

Have a wonderful weekend... don't forget the 12noon Mass tomorrow from Walsingham, including the prayers for the Rededication of England as the Dowry of Mary. You are all constantly in our prayers here at the Presbytery.
With our prayers,
Canon Tom Gunning (Parish Priest)
and Joseph Meigh (seminarian)
