Mass will be celebrated on Zoom at 9.30am on Monday 30th November and Tuesday 1st December.

Corpus Christi will be open for Private Prayer on Monday from 10.30am -12.30pm.

Our Lady of Lourdes will be open for Private Prayer on Tuesday from 9.30am - 11.30am

St. Joseph's will be open for Private Prayer on Sunday from 1.00pm - 4.00pm

Public Masses can be Celebrated from Wednesday 2nd December at normal times. Please see newsletter for times. The only exception is there won't be a Mass at 7.30pm at Our Lady of Lourdes on Thursday 3rd December as there is a Funeral Mass at 2.00pm.

PRAYER - ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

Masses for Christmas and the Octave.

You will need to book a seat at the Mass of your choice this Christmas. There will be an extra Vigil Mass but that may not be enough to accommodate everyone who wants to attend. So the Bishops of England and Wales have suggested that the other Octave Masses i.e. Dec 26th until Jan 1^st be considered additional Masses to celebrate Christmas liturgically. So please select only one of the following Christmas Masses and phone or email Corpus Christi or Our Lady of Lourdes. The week-end Masses for 26^th/27^th Dec are the Solemnity of The Holy Family and are likely to be busy so please also book a place at one of these Masses.

Advent Carol Service
3:30 pm Sunday 13th December 2020

As we are sadly unable to meet and sing together for our traditional carol service this year, we are planning a Carol Service over the internet using Zoom. This will use the same Zoom link as for our Corpus Christi Masses, and can also be accessed by using a standard landline or mobile phone.

Our Carol Service will be aimed towards children and families, although everyone is very welcome. I am hoping that some children and parents might like to read some short sections into the camera, and I also need volunteers to sing a carol (the traditional ones we all know!) for everyone to sing along with at home. If you would like to be involved, please contact Julie Ottley asap, via the parish office wsm.corpuschristi@cliftondiocese.com

I would like as many children as possible to draw or paint a picture of a part of the Nativity Story to share at the Carol Service. If you can scan or take a photo of your picture and send it to wsm.corpuschristi@cliftondiocese.com , that would be brilliant!.

Prior to the Carol Service, we would like everyone to make a Christingle, which they will light as part of the Service. Alternatively, have a simple candle available. The candle can be real or battery-operated or use a birthday cake candle. Instructions for making a Christingle are as follows:

How to make a Christingle

You’ll need an orange, a candle, some tin foil, red ribbon,
cocktail sticks, dried fruit or sweets, and a pair of scissors.
Then you just do this:
•         Fasten a red ribbon around the orange
•         Cut a small cross into the top of the orange and place a square of tin foil over it (to catch the candle wax as it drops)
•         Place the candle on top of the foil and push it firmly into the orange
•         Load a mixture of dried fruit or sweets on to the cocktail sticks, ensuring the points are covered
• Insert the sticks around the base of the candle.
• Store upright in a cool place – and don’t make them too far in advance, as they won't keep for long.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The 3rd December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. There is a virtual moment of prayer and celebration between 6.15 and 7pm on You Tube. Register by November 30th at shorturl.at/lrFU1 or email pastoraledisabili@chiesacattolica.it. The theme is "The prophecy of fraternity". There will be a special video or text from Pope Francis.
