Each Sunday in Lent appeals for contributions to the special Lent/Easter offering have been made, both during worship service and in Chapel Notes. With a goal of $10,500, this offering is one of the four special activities by which our congregation annually raises all its funds for our church’s carefully selected benevolences. With the pandemic having rendered Aprilfest infeasible this year and Octoberfest still iffy, the importance of the Lent/Easter offering has become even more critical. Yet, so far, this year's special offering has been running behind the pace needed to achieve its budgetary goal.
100% of Walker Chapel’s Lent-Easter Special Offering goes to organizations serving people here and around the world who need your help. Profiles of each of these benevolence organizations may be viewed at https://walkerchapel.org/benevolence/. And this week leading up to Easter, our social media accounts will showcase each of these organizations. Please like and share the impact these organizations have in our community with your friends and family, encouraging them to make a sacrificial Lenten gift this year.
You can make a generous donation, either by mailing a check to the church office (marked “Lent/Easter Offering”) or by donating on-line (visit the website at https://walkerchapel.org/giveand then select the “Lent/Easter Offering” fund option.) Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated.
There were some technical difficulties experienced with the church's website on-line payment mechanism in week's prior. Please be aware that recent repairs have been made to correct these technical issues and you should now be able to make an on-line donation at this link, even if you have previously encountered difficulty doing so.
Whether you donate on-line or by mailing a check to the church, we urge that you contribute to the Lent offering, so that Walker Chapel can continue to support people near and far who are hurting in the midst of this pandemic. Thank you for your generosity.
