Hi there!
LJ here -
I sincerely hope that this email reaches you well.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has disrupted, and (in many cases) outright halted, our personal and professional lives in ways indescribable.

Since last year, I have been working more hours each day laying the foundation for what I believe will help you realize potential individually as well as for members of your team(s).

Because you matter.
Because life is so precious and
Because a life lived unfulfilled, unhappy, or unaccompanied by loved ones, friends, and your own personal cheerleaders is a life that you nor I should ever settle for.

Because life is beautiful. And by uplifting you, I uplift myself.

I hope that this message reaches you at a time where you are receptive.

I have big plans for you and me.
And I hope to see and/or hear from you very soon!

Warm regards and sincerity,

My friends call me the-MJ-of-nonprofits and the business fluency educator.

I believe that I am proof that grant and project management are the wickedest combination that there is.

And I also believe that success is nothing more than the mastery of hard and soft skills or formulaically:

Skills + Passion = Success

I say that to say this.
In addition to being a full-time entrepreneur, I am also a part-time or adjunct university lecturer at the University of the Incarnate Word and Our Lady of the Lake University.

The most common question that I receive from my students every semester is "I can't find an internship due to the pandemic. I also can't find a job. What should I do?"

Get your degree(s) and get certified is the answer that I always provide.

I earned my Masters in Public Administration in the year 2012. At the time, I wasn't sure what it was that I wanted to do professionally, I just knew that I wanted to work with great people and do work that was ethical and fulfilling.

So I became a Advanced Placement Biology and Environmental Science teacher. And I loved it - until I didn't.

I picked up a (Pathways) internship at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security during my senior year as an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University. And one of the fondest memories that I have working there is of the Project Manager who led my team.

She was exceptional in every way and her business acumen was off-the-charts. I remember being totally blown away by her substance and willingness to share. She was a young woman who, to me, shattered the glass ceiling for what is usually expected of women who look like her and are from where she is from.

She was much more to me than a Project Manager. She was the leader of our department; she was the leader that we all aspired to be.

When I found out that she was a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), I took a couple of courses with authorized training partners to begin to learn more about the project management discipline and why it was such a big deal to so many people that I would speak to or hear from all over the world.

Today, I look back on my professional life and remember all of the people like that Project Manager that I was led by at Homeland Security who had the greatest impacts on my ability to set a goal for myself and surpass it.

I want to invite you to join me on this journey of holistic health and wealth-building.
