"Bev and Guy Willis are a Power Team!  They both spend countless hours at church every week to bless the lives of others and bring glory to God.  We are more thankful for their willingness, commitment and dedication to especially the praise team and food pantry than could ever be put into words.  You both are loved and appreciated beyond measure!"

Covid Mitigations
Due to the circulating and highly contagious Delta variant, CDC currently recommends universal indoor masking by all students (age 2 and older), staff, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of their vaccination status. Therefore, our PRG Team has decided that effective immediately, ALL participants and volunteers in children's ministry (Nursery, Sunday School, Wednesday Nights, special events, etc.) are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status when indoors.

Music Ministry at CCUMC
A Note from the Choir Director:
This is your friendly, new choir director coming to let you know it’s time to prepare for Christmas!  Beginning last week, we will be having rehearsals on Thursday nights at 6:30.  We will be singing a cantata called “Let There Be Christmas” written by one of my favorite sacred composers, Joseph Martin.  I was blessed to meet him at a sacred music conference in Wilmington, DE a few weeks ago!  We will begin rehearsals with a vocal warm up, prayer time, then Cantata rehearsal and finally rehearsal for Sunday mornings; that way if you are just singing in the cantata, you will be finished earlier.  However, I’d love for all of you to join us in our weekly choir singing!  If you know of anyone who may be interested in singing the Christmas cantata or joining the choir, please feel free to contact me at Happy singing!
Courthouse Christian Preschool & Afterschool

Due to the generosity of our CCPA children last Spring, we were able to send a generous gift to our Compassion Child, Rosaline. We received a letter from Rosaline and a photo of her with her family! Rosaline says:
"Hello dear Friends, I am so happy to write this letter to you. How are you doing? I am doing well and my family as well. Thank you so much for the letter. Here, we are in the rainy season and it is raining so much. We have started with the field work. I have received the gift you have sent for my family. I have bought two sheep, male and female to raise. I have bought a mattress, food, three loin cloths, corn, biscuits and candies. I am wordless to thank you, because we have food in family thanks to you. Our food were finished, but thanks to you, we have what to eat. Thanks to you, we can also do sheep farming. May God bless you and thank you infinitely. I am with my mother and big brother and my little brother on the picture I joined. May God bless you and nice day to you."
We are so blessed to hear good things from Rosaline, and hope to continue to support her and her family.

The National Church

We continue to pray for those affected by Hurricane Ida. Please remember that any work related to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) will start only after all the first responders leave the area. There will be more specific calls to help in the coming weeks and months. The Virginia Conference strongly advises against any self-deployment to these areas. The work of recovery will continue in the coming months and years, and Serving Ministries invite churches to be part of this long journey. Learn more
