Hello everyone,
Code of conduct for Lake Lyster and environs
The Association for the Protection of Lake Lyster (APPLL) has interactions with most of Baldwin’s Mills’ groups and organizations. Among these relationships, the ‘Blue Patrol’ figures prominently. One of the approaches that they use, for the protection of the lake, is the implementation of the Code of Conduct. The “representatives on the blue patrol” would like more people to sign the code. It is a way for us to renew awareness of good practices on and around the lake. We therefore invite you to sign the Code of Conduct if you have not already done so, or sign it again and encourage your acquaintances to do so. The code is available here (internet link).
New guide for good practices to protect the environment
The Association is currently reworking the environmental protection checklist. A preliminary version of the new guide is now available on our website. The guide is intended specifically for homeowners who rent to others but is useful for everyone.

A symbolic member of the Board of the Association
At a recent meeting, the Board of the Association adopted a resolution to make an amendment to the associations ‘Bylaws and Regulations’. We would like members to approve the addition of a “symbolic member” to the board. The "symbolic member" will represent a ‘child’. This will remind us that all our actions must take into account future generations towards whom our duty to protect the environment must be focussed.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM of the Association will take place on October 14. The official notice will be sent to you at the end of September. Only ‘members in good standing’ have the right to speak and vote at the meeting. For the sake of efficiency and to avoid crowding and a delay at the entrance to the meeting, the Association asks that the renewal of annual and submission of new membership dues be completed by August 31.
