1. Coming up on Sunday...
There will be no evening services in August, so everyone is especially invited to join together for the 10.30am service, in-person or on Facebook Live. This Sunday's leader and preacher is George Ryan, and the duty steward is Jane Gamble. Thank you to Maxine Slade for this Sunday's flowers.
2. Children's Church summer break
During the 10.30am service, supervised children are very welcome to use the creche room, where four themed craft activities, books and board games are available on the windowsill, as well as all the usual toys for younger children. Please try to tidy up when you have finished so that the room is ready for the following Sunday - thank you. Children are also very welcome to sit in the service with their families.

Children's Church will be back on from 11 September.
3. Coffee, Cake & Communion on Thursday
Everyone is warmly invited to the next Coffee, Cake & Communion service on Thursday 1 September from 1.45pm for 2pm in the church entrance lounge. Please join us for some well-known hymns, a thought for the day, traditional prayers and a great opportunity for fellowship together. Who could you invite along?
4. Who do you follow?
        6.15pm Services in September
The 6.15pm service is back on from next Sunday, 4 September, and we're going to be asking "Who do you follow?" through a short series of talks on the three different person of the Trinity:
Sunday 4 September - Who is God, the Father?

Sunday 11 September - Who is Jesus, the Son?

Sunday 18 September - Who is the Holy Spirit?

Come for refreshments from 6pm - all welcome!
5. Join a Fellowship Group this autumn - all welcome!
Fellowship Groups are a big part of how we share in discipleship, prayer and pastoral care together at West Kirby URC, many of our members meeting in fortnightly small groups for Bible study, social activities, prayer times and more.

There are currently six different groups running - each with its own flavour, but all sharing common values of welcome, Word, worship and witness - and potentially two new groups starting in the autumn. The groups meet on a variety of days, in various locations, so hopefully there is one that fits for you.

If you would be interested in joining a group, please contact Kath - 07930137041 /  Those who are newer to West Kirby URC would be especially welcome - you don't have to be a member yet, come along and get to know us better.
6. All-age afternoon services this autumn
Thank you to everyone who contributed ideas at June's Church Meeting about how to re-introduce and resource a 'Something New' style service for all the family one Sunday afternoon each month from this autumn onwards. There was strong support for 'Connecting your Community to Christ' this way, and the idea of 'skipping' one of the other services on the Sunday of an afternoon service was seen as a good approach to help this new service be well-supported and avoid our volunteer teams being over-stretched.

More information will follow but for now please note that there will be special afternoon services on the last Sunday of the month this autumn, and therefore no evening service on 25 September, no morning service on 30 October, no evening service on 27 November.
