1. Come along to a Concert Tomorrow

Newland House School's touring choir are kindly donating all proceeds from this concert to our friends at Safe Families UK 😀
2. Coming up on Sunday...
We begin new preaching series at both services this Sunday...

At the 10.30am service, we'll be exploring 'Tested: Faith in the Struggle' and this week Liz Matthews will be leading and Colin Usher preaching on James 1:2–4. Join us in the building or by watching on Facebook Live - everyone's welcome, and children can be dropped off at Children's Church from 10.15am.

At the 6.15pm service, we're going to spend the Sundays in July asking what it means to be an encourager and to receive encouragement ourselves. This Sunday, Louise will be leading and Emma Jackson preaching on Elijah & Elisha. Come along for worship, Word and prayer, there will be refreshments available from 6pm.

Thank you to Alli Lakin for this Sunday's flowers
3. New? Welcome Lunch on Sunday!
If you haven't RSVP-ed yet, that's fine, please just let Kath know or come on the day
4. Come and visit Children's Church!
Children's Church has seen some great developments over the past term, with lots more fun activities for the children, and lots more children coming regularly! If you would like to see what goes on at Children's Church, and perhaps consider joining the Children's Church team yourself, regularly or occasionally, you are warmly invited to visit Children's Church on Sunday 10 July or Sunday 17 July, from 10.15am. 'Visitor spaces' are limited for each Sunday, so please let Dan ( know in advance if you would like to visit. The children will be delighted to see you!
5. It's only 3 weeks until Holiday Club!
Offer to help on the sign-up sheet in church or by emailing
Sarah Watson writes, "Calling all pickle eaters! Your Holiday Club needs you! We need around 60 clean and label-free jars for one of our crafts at this years holiday club. Small jars that could easily fit a tea light in the neck of the jar. Pickle jars are ideal - we don’t need lids  There’ll be a box at the back of church - many thanks"
6. Serve With Us...
*** Thank you to everyone who has returned postcards so far - a range of roles have been filled thanks to 17 people offering to serve, 10 for the first time at West Kirby URC. There are still plenty of ways you can get involved, and the most pressing needs now are for leaders and helpers at Children's Church and people to learn how to operate the sound desk, projector or video for Sunday services. ***

Interested in serving with us for the first time? Or in a new way? Just complete one of the new postcards (they'll be around on Sunday), pop it in the envelope on the 'Serve With Us' board, and we’ll be in touch soon  Or get in touch for a chat by contacting
  • Kath Hilborne – 07930 137041 – - Kath works for the church and would love to meet up with you if you’re new.
  • OR Gordon WilsonGordon has served in all sorts of roles at West Kirby URC and maintains a spreadsheet of who serves in which roles and where there are gaps.
The Small Print... a new Volunteer Policy, mutual expectations paper, role descriptions and other documentation have been prepared and filed for reference. These documents help the church, as a charity, to comply with good practice and they guide us in protecting one another. These documents are available from Kath or Gordon for anyone who would like to read them, and they are important, but ultimately just exist to serve the call God gives us to care for each another and maintain the church's integrity in the world.
