Jubilee,

I'd like to share with you a prayer that Paul the Apostle prayed for the church in Ephesus. Let's take joy and comfort from the fact that we serve a God "who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..." I plan to pray this for Jubilee in the coming weeks and I invite you to join me. This is Ephesians 3:14-21:

 
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Healthcare workers as they are serve the public during Covid-19.

The Betancourt family as Williams and Ivan recover from Covid.

Robert Cornwell continues his recovery from his knee replacement surgery.

Emmie Diener is suffering from RSV and a double ear infection. 

The new Service Adventure Unit, entirely from Germany, is facing difficulty getting visas to begin their time together in Jackson.

A Food Pantry Coordinator for Jubilee's food pantry and for God's provision in the meantime.

Bonnie Allen requests prayer for her mother, Linda, who is sick and her father, Royce, who fell and hurt his back.

Dakota Turner requests prayer for his family as they mourn the loss of his grandfather, Herman Moody.

Dakota Turner

If Dakota could travel anywhere, he would go to Bora Bora because he saw it in a movie once. The atmosphere looked nice and beautiful.

Dakota prefers his eggs scrambled.

If Dakota could have his own show it would be a giveaway show, to help people in need.

Volunteers Needed. Are you available to help unload, weigh and sort Walmart surplus groceries on Monday mornings or unload the MS Food Network truck on August 18?  We also need help for the food distribution on August 24. Please contact Kelsey Luke if interested.

Open Door in Jackson is refurbishing their sanctuary and needs your volunteer skills and time. They are hosting individuals or groups on three Saturdays 10:00am-2:00pm with lunch provided:  August 14, 21, 28. We feel it is important to acknowledge the unfortunate reality that COVID-19 cases are on the rise in our state and county. We are monitoring the situation along with Jubilee's Elders. Given recent recommendations from the MS Department of Health we recommend:
  • You consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine if you are eligible.
  • All congregants, even those who are vaccinated, over the age of 5 consider wearing a mask for Sunday services and other indoor church events.
Jubilee, please let us know if you test positive for COVID-19 after attending an in-person Sunday service or other church event.  To reiterate the policy established by the Elders at the beginning of the pandemic, if individuals from separate households test positive for COVID-19 after worshiping in person at Jubilee, this will constitute a Jubilee outbreak and we will take a two week pause worshiping only on Zoom during that time.

For anyone who does not feel safe worshiping in person, Sunday services will continue to be broadcast live on Zoom for the foreseeable future.
