1. Injunction on Additional Verizon Poles Only
While it will NOT remove any of the installed poles OR stop any beachfront poles by other companies, it was reported in the Cape Gazette today that Verizon and Alex Pires agreed to an injunction which will halt Verizon’s own further 5G pole installation in Dewey Beach until further notice. The temporary restraining order of July 1 came in advance of a Court Hearing of July 6, (and a town protest which is being held on July 5 see above). Unfortunately, the agreement does not remove any of the townwide poles, in a project that already appears complete for Verizon. No other telecoms, such as Tilson which has nine already DelDot approved poles pending further town application fo the Beachfront, (as opposed to Verizon’s five poles) is affected this voluntary agreed-to Injunction negotiated this week and signed by a Judge to be binding until both parties reach another agreement.

2. Call for Leadership for State 5g Legislation’s Sponsors to Step In to Save Dewey’s Beachfront
Following up on the need to address the existing and future poles of the four or more wireless carriers who may be at Dewey’s Beachfront within the next year, the Cape Gazette published today a letter from DCA founder “JC” Smith. In the letter, JC, an economist and policy analyst, addresses the latest information on beachfront poles. He also sheds light on some of the misleading arguments made by the politicians who sponsored the bill that continues to tie Dewey’s hands from having any voice in the pole locations.  The letter describes why rational leadership must insist the poles be moved to the center median of the town. The State Representative and Senator, who were sponsors of the 5g legislation, are called on to be leaders of the effort to mitigate the poles’ impact on the town. They are asked to advocate for the interests of town’s residents, visitors and the environment, over large telecom campaign supporters. Cape Gazette: Hold the politicians and Verizon accountable
