Preliminary Injunction of Federal Contractor Requirements

The injunction impacts the University community in a number of ways. As has been previously communicated, the federal vaccine mandate required the University of Georgia to identify covered contractor employees and notify them of the requirement under the federal mandate that they receive their final dose of vaccination by January 4, 2022. The federal mandate also required that the University of Georgia identify all covered contractor workplaces and take steps to enforce mask-wearing and physical distancing requirements in those workplaces.

As a result of the injunction, these requirements are currently suspended until further notice. Read More

  • If you have received a notification that you are a covered contractor employee, you do not need to take any further action to comply with the federal vaccination mandate or the notification that you received.
  • If you have not received a notification that you are a covered contractor employee, you do not need to take any action.

We continue to strongly encourage all members of the University community to get vaccinated, and we encourage everyone—whether vaccinated or not—to wear a face covering while inside campus facilities.

UGA Presents 2021 First Awards

The inaugural UGA First Awards were given out in November honoring first-generation college attendees for their contributions and achievements. Those selected include: an undergraduate student, a graduate, a professional student,  a faculty member, and a staff member. We are proud to announce that a member of our college, Tierra Jackson, was chosen as the "Professional Student" to win this award.

As a first-generation college student, her mission is to reinvest in her community  and the next generation of learners to ensure everyone has equitable guidance  and resources to succeed. On being selected for the award, she said, "Being an inaugural recipient of this award is truly humbling. It motivates me to continue exploring ways to make a difference."

Dr. Young Publishes New Book

Dr. Henry Young, Clinical Professor and CAP Department Head is the co-author of a new book just released, Fast Facts: Medication Adherence – A practical approach to optimizing medication use, published by Karger. According to the book details, “Helping your patients to use their medications safely and appropriately is a critical aspect of clinical practice, but it can be challenging. The published literature on the topic of adherence is vast, and constantly growing and evolving. It is not feasible, nor necessarily helpful, to comprehensively summarize all the available evidence. Instead, this book aims to provide all health professionals with a succinct and handy resource on medication adherence. Importantly, the book focuses on practical information that can inform, and be applied in, day-to-day clinical practice.

Verify/Update Information in OneUSG Connect

Each year it is important for a variety of reasons to verify your information in OneUSG Connect. This includes information for your Addresses (home), Contact Details (preferred phone numbers), Emergency Contacts and electronic W-2 Consent. The good news is that this process is quick and easy. Taking a few minutes today can help avoid issues in the future. Here’s the process:

  1. Log into OneUSG Connect (click here to log in).
  2. Verify and update your Personal Information if needed.
  3. Consider Signing Up for an Electronic W-2 (if haven't already).
  4. Add/Update W-4 and G-4 Tax Information.
