September is National Preparedness Month

Are you prepared for a natural disaster or other emergencies? Since September is National Preparedness month, consider creating at least one emergency kit. A personal emergency kit for the home or office can be life-saving in case of a disaster or unexpected situation. Having the right tools in your kit can help you survive and possibly aid others around you.

Being prepared is necessary and putting together an emergency kit can be as simple as going around the house or to your local grocery store to collect essential items. We recommend the following items to start building your own emergency kit:
  • Water (most important item, one gallon per person per day)
  • Non-perishable foods
  • Masks and hand sanitizer
  • Flashlight
  • Back-up battery for cell phone
  • First aid kit
  • Battery-powered NOAA Weather Radio and batteries
For a more information about, check out The University of Georgia's Office of Emergency Preparedness!

COLT - COVID-19 Information

DawgCheck is UGA’s easy-to-use, COVID-19 reporting tool for the UGA community.  It is important to respond to all questions in the DawgCheck reporting tool.

When should you use DawgCheck?

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, you are REQUIRED to report it.
  • If you have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 and are unvaccinated or if it has been over three months since you’ve had COVID-19, use DawgCheck to check your symptoms and learn next steps.

 Why should you use DawgCheck?

  • The health and safety of the UGA community is our top priority.
  • If you test positive, you can share names of close contacts to help DPH with contact tracing.
  • In addition to getting vaccinated, using DawgCheck will help protect fellow Bulldogs and the communities surrounding campus against the spread of COVID-19.

Faculty and Staff - USG Increase to Well-being Credit for COVID-19 Vaccine

To encourage vaccination, the University System of Georgia is offering an increased well-being credit to all employees and their eligible spouses who get vaccinated. Effective August 30, 2021, the University System of Georgia  well-being credit maximum will be increased to $200 from $100 and employees/spouses that receive the vaccine will be eligible for the full $200. Employees/spouses must be registered on the University System of Georgia well-being platform to receive the credit. The University System of Georgia will waive the current requirement for employees to complete a health assessment to become eligible for well-being credits for 2021.
