Back on the Farm:  On September 7, 2018, SCPKU hosted a full-day event, which featured Stanford president Marc Tessier-Lavigne's keynote speech and a round table discussion with four deans from the schools of Business, Engineering, Law, and Medicine. Thirteen Stanford faculty taught "Lightning Seminars" and led discussions on a wide variety of topics.  More than 200 students, alumni, and faculty attended the event.  Read more

The Stanford China Economic Forum was held on September 8, 2018, in Beijing.  Nearly 500 scholars, business leaders and Stanford alumni attended the forum.  Sessions on Education, Finance & Investment, Technology & AI, U.S. & China, and Critical Issues on Energy, Healthcare and Fin Tech were held.  Prof. Jean Oi, director of SCPKU, moderated U.S. & China session with speakers:  Prof. Lawrence Lau and Prof. Susan Shirk. Read more

SCPKU Welcomes Stanford Students to China Studies in Beijing  A select group of Stanford graduate and undergraduate students arrived on September 21 at SCPKU  to participate in the inaugural fall quarter of China Studies in Beijing, an overseas program offered by the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. Leading faculty from different Stanford departments and two Peking University faculty are offering intensive courses on contemporary Chinese society, politics, international relations and economic development.  The picture was taken in Dandong, border city with North Korean Read more.
