Roll Tide, Chapter 2

Mike Honan and Roxanne Travelute have opened a Foundation fund to support the Hillel Connections program. This is a summer internship program to introduce college students to our vibrant Alabama Jewish community, especially Birmingham.  It provides connections to local families and programming to introduce  these college students to life here after college.  If you would like to support this great program, contact Sally Friedman 205-266-8387 or  or Roxanne Travelute at

If you do not think about your future, you cannot have one.
                                                                                  --John Galsworthy

The Federation will be unveiling a community strategic plan in early March.  Almost 600 surveys and interviews were included to provide a data-driven blueprint for a vibrant future for our Jewish community.  Chairs for this process were Joel Piassick and Layne Held.   The Foundation’s Unrestricted Fund provided major funding for this project.  Stay tuned for more exciting information!
