The Abramovitz Lecture series was founded in honor of Moses Abramovitz, one of the builders of Stanford’s Economics Department. The event will mark the twentieth anniversary of Moe’s death.
Professor Field's lecture title is: “The Economic Consequences of US Mobilization for the Second World War.” This event will be moderated by Gavin Wright, William Robertson Coe Professor of American Economic History, Emeritus.
About the Speaker: Alexander J. Field is the Michel and Mary Orradre Professor of Economics at Santa Clara University, where he has taught since 1982. Over a long career in economic history, Field has addressed an unusually diverse range of topics, most prominently the trajectory of technology and productivity growth in US history. Read more.
