COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The Staff Council Community Engagement Committee will recognize demonstrated volunteerism by UVM Staff with a $25 award (per staff member) made payable to the 501c3 group or organization connected to the staff member’s volunteer effort. UVM staff members are limited to one application per calendar year.

Community Service Award Application

Applications are to be submitted to the Staff Council Office. The Staff Council Community Engagement Committee will review and process award applications at their monthly meeting, following receipt of the application.  Please note that funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, until the funds are depleted.  Support for this Award Program is dependent upon availability of funds, and is not guaranteed.

For additional information on any of these awards, please contact the Staff Council Office at Staff.Council@uvm.edu or 656-4493.

It's never too late.  We continue to have a few open seats for interested staff and UVMSU members to serve.  If you are in any of the following, click the link to learn more.  We would love to hear from you with questions on serving.

The Office of International Education is seeking hosts for the Community Host Program for the 2022-2023 academic year. This program matches international students with UVM staff or faculty members that serve as a community friend and mentor. Students and hosts get to plan their own activities and decide how often they’d like to meet.
This is a great opportunity for students to build connections and form lasting relationships both at UVM and in the larger Burlington community. Many hosts remain in contact with their mentees years after they leave UVM! If you are interested in participating, please email InternationalStudents@uvm.edu with a brief introduction, and the OIE will be in touch with additional information.
UVM employees get 15% off. When ordering online, you will need to sign in with your UVM credentials and then you will see the fac/staff discount. (The 15% cannot be combined with the other discount packages we’re offering.)

UVM Employee Wellness Group Fitness Classes - News & Action Step!:

Hello UVM Employees,

As Employee Wellness gears up for an exciting fall of supporting your wellness path, I have some news from our partnership with UVM Campus Recreation.

You may have heard that earlier this month the former system, IM Leagues, is no longer being used to sign up for group fitness classes.  There will no longer be an advanced sign-up system to take any classes with UVM Campus Recreation.  This adjustment is a return to a past system of showing up with you active Cat Card and enjoying a great work out!  CLICK TO READ FULL ANNOUNCEMENT
Fire Of Love are Maurice and Katia Krafft, married French scientists who devoted their lives to the study of volcanoes. Really, though, it might be more accurate to describe the couple, who died in a volcanic eruption in 1991, as co-directors, since they were the ones who captured the most arresting images in this curious and haunting film.
UVM employees can access $2 discounted tickets for the 9/1 screening at 7pm by entering promo code UVM2022 when selecting a ticket to add to your cart. Once you are on the show page for the film you'd like to see, click "Get tickets", then "Buy tickets". You'll then see (above the price options listed) a teal box that says "Know a promotion code?". Click that, enter UVM2022, and then you'll see Ticket- $2 pop up as an option to select. Continue following the prompts from there to checkout
