Dear Neighbors,

It was 8* when I left for work this morning, and I hope all of your are warm and safe. It has been a joy to watch children sledding down Town Hall Hill, but icy driveways and paths are treacherous so please be careful when you go out!
I would like to remind everyone that this coming Thursday at 7:00 p.m., we will hold the Public Hearing on the proposed Farmer's Market Zoning Law Amendment. Due to the rising number of COVID cases, we will be meeting via ZOOM.  After we close the Public Hearing, we will move on to hold our regular Town Board Meeting. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

It is easy to sign in to the meetings.  Just go to the homepage at and click join.  I apologize in advance for anyone who is unable to participate via Zoom, but we will post minutes and also post a video of the Hearing..

We are looking for volunteers to join several committees and hope you will consider getting involved.  It is my great hope to get more folks engage in our community in this way.

Haunted Fortress Committee - this is a sub-committee of the Rec Commission and has five different task groups.  Please email Sara Knickerbocker at if you are interested in helping to bring the Haunted Fortress back to life this October!
  1. Sets/Costumes/Make up
  2. Scheduler
  3. Behind the Scenes Production
  4. Creative Team
  5. Carpentry
We are also looking for a volunteer to join The Ethics Committee.  Please email me directly at if you are interest in this position.

Finally, I very much would like to expand our Veterans Outreach Committee.  I believe that our Veterans are underserved by the Town.  We need more hands on deck to do a better job.  Please think about joining this committee, and contact me directly at
This COVID guidance come directly from the Office of the County Executive:
CDC & NYS Isolation and Quarantine Guidance Update
On January 4th 2022 the CDC issued updated COVID quarantine and isolation guidelines in response to the omicron surge, which the New York State Department of Health followed with aligned interim guidance
To summarize the guidance as it stands:
  • If you are exposed (within 6 feet of someone with Covid for over 15 minutes in a 24hr period) and you are boosted or fully vaccinated and not yet eligible for a booster, you are not required to quarantine but must wear a mask and monitor for symptoms for 10 days. If you are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or fully vaccinated and eligible for booster but have not received a booster, you must quarantine for 5 days. A NAAT/PCR test is recommended at day 5, or sooner if symptoms develop. For those unable to wear a well-fitting mask, quarantine for a full 10 days
  • If you are Covid positive, isolate for 5 full days, followed by with strict mask wearing for the rest of the 10 days (day 0 is day of symptom onset, or day of positive test if no symptoms). For those unable to wear a well-fitting mask, isolate for a full 10 days. In order to end isolation, symptoms, if present, must be improving.
  • Individuals with moderate to severe immune compromise are not eligible for the shortened (5-day) periods, and should quarantine/isolate for 10 days.
Please refer to the attached flyer regarding what we know about Omicron and includes a flow chart for the new isolation and quarantine guidelines.
Be well and be safe!
My best,

Wendy Burton
