Who Are We?
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering. and to be recognized for their life-changing contributions as engineers and leaders. Founded in 1950, SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career for women through an exciting array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities, and much more.

LASAN's 5th Annual 
Environ-mental Engineer Day

E-Day is a cross between a LASAN open house and a professional workshop for college students. LASAN team members will be presenting on our mission/culture, core programs, opportunities, and key professional development topics (public vs. private sector, navigating a professional environment, inclusivity, and equity, etc.)

Online Coding Competition

Register for Kick Start once on the link below and you’ll be set up to compete in any round you’d like! When each round is open, the three-hour countdown begins and you’ll compete to solve algorithmic and mathematical problems. Following the round, you can check out your rankings and the round analysis. If you were a top competitor, you may be contacted by Google for a chance to interview!

Niagara Manufacturing Internship 

Available in 31 US locations 
 
"Interns spend the summer working directly on high impact projects within one of our manufacturing departments. During this 10-12 week internship, participants are encouraged to think outside the box and use a continuous improvement mindset to approach projects and come up with solutions. Interns gain hands-on experience in work related to their field of study."

Throughout this 15-month rotational program, participants will be a crucial member of the manufacturing team with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the business by sharing innovative ideas with team members and leadership...Following the MDP, participants will be ready to take on a leadership role at a Niagara plant location."

Scholarship Opportunities

Generation Google 
Scholarship

Due: Dec 4, 2020                         11:59 PM PST                   

If selected, scholarship recipients will each receive a $10,000 USD scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year. The program is open to students that intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at an accredited university or college for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Scholarship: for women in gaming

If selected, scholarship recipients will each receive a $10,000 USD scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year. Should be studying video game programming, game engineering, game design, and development, or a closely related field in gaming. Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for increasing the involvement of women in gaming

ASHRAE Orange Empire Scholarship

The Orange County chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, ASHRAE Orange Empire, welcomes applicants for its 2021 scholarships! There are $5,000 of scholarships available to undergraduate university and community college engineering students ranging from $2,000 to $1,000 in value.

SCV SWE 2021 Scholarship

Due: Feb 21, 2021                                    

SWE SCV promotes SWE's mission by awarding scholarships to local women pursuing an accredited engineering or computer science degree (ABET or CSAB) in the United States. SWE SCV awards approximately $15,000 in scholarships each year. 

Applicants must either have a permanent address or be attending a school in the following counties: South San Mateo County, South Alameda County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, San Benito County
