Next Sunday is the second Sunday of Advent 2021. Our theme this year is “Dare to Imagine.” This theme feels especially appropriate as we explore and dream about where God might be calling Jubilee. Leader magazine introduces the theme by saying, “So much has been put on hold or turned upside down that we need to listen and respond to God’s presence with new ears and renewed hearts and minds. As we begin a new church year, let’s dare to imagine our path forward with God toward God’s good dream for our world.”

Click here to explore the devotional resources following this theme on MCUSA’s website.
God, even when the world around us seems to be full of chaos and violence, you are at work.
Make us bold enough to imagine and see your hopeful goodness springing up! Amen.

This week we pray for...

Valerie Foy and her family and friends. Val has been put on hospice care for colon cancer. She has been moved to the Chicago area to be with family.

Honduras is having elections this week. We pray for peace in the midst of political uncertainty and unrest.

The family of George Godwin is grateful for his improving strength and health as he continues chemotherapy.
If you have any prayer requests you would like shared in the pastoral prayer time of this Sunday's worship service, please send them to Joel Diener or Kelsey Luke.

Wayne Gorrow sends his gratitude for all who stayed after the service yesterday to help unload the new freezer. Thank you so much!

There is the possibility that a new believers' class will begin soon. If you are interested in taking steps toward baptism, please let Joel or Kelsey know.

Everence is offering the webinar "Financial wellness" on December 1.

If you are interested in contributing toward the college matching grant for spring 2022, please make contributions by December 1st. Questions? See Joel Diener.

At the conclusion of the worship service on Sunday, December 12th, we will look briefly at pastoral priorities each of us believe is important in calling a long-term pastor for Jubilee. This will include a survey that Del and PCRC members will guide us in completing.

Volunteers Needed. The Free Store will be open Saturday, December 11 from 10 am to 2pm. Volunteers are needed to set up during the week and to work Saturday. Interested? Contact Kelsey Luke.

Are you interested in sharing a song, skit or other talent for the upcoming Christmas program? There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Questions? See Zoe Clymer & Mary Wansley.

The Youth and Jr. Youth are invited to attend the Christmas Party here at church on Wednesday, December 1 from 6-8 P.M. Snacks will be provided. If you have any questions, please ask a Youth or Jr. Youth sponsor.

When the disciples heard this,
they were greatly astonished and asked,
“Who then can be saved?”

Jesus looked at them and said,
“With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.”
