Easter and Passover – bank holiday information

As the bank holiday weekend approaches, we’d like to wish all our colleagues a happy Easter, and a happy Passover to our Jewish colleagues. Please see this special video message from our Director of Pathway Integration, Helen Lewis.
This is the first time in three years that we will have been able to celebrate with a big group of people in our homes, which will mean a lot to all of us.
We’re encouraging people to keep themselves and others safe by only visiting emergency departments in life-threatening situations, washing their hands regularly, wearing a face covering in enclosed areas, and making space from people they do not live with. Information about health services in Leeds over the bank holiday can be found here on our website.
GP practices, hospitals and pharmacies remain under extreme pressure due to Covid-19 and the vaccination programme.  Our communities will be safer because of the ongoing success of the vaccination programme, and the hard work and dedication of primary care staff. As always, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do.

Access to LTHT phlebotomy services

LTHT have reported that some  patients have had to be turned away as they did not have a paper form, and the blood test that they required was not visible on ICE.

LTHT remain happy to take GP requested bloods at the main hospital sites, but would like to remind referrers that the blood tests required must have been ordered on ICE, and the patient issued with the paper form.
NHS Leeds CCG are working with LTHT to streamline this process.

Access to SPIRE services on e-RS

SPIRE Hospital will be undertaking an upgrade to their PAS system between 10.00pm on Thursday 14 April until 6.00am on Tuesday 19 April. There will be no access to SPIRE services on e-RS during this time. Should referrers wish to make a referral to SPIRE services during this time, they are requested to delay the referral until the morning of Tuesday 19 April.

NHS Digital Weight Management Programme referral form

A new version of the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme referral form is now available for practices. This will improve the referral process by:
  • Ensuring more of the patient’s information auto-populates
  • A simplified layout
  • Clearer instructions to input information onto the form
Practices are asked to download and use the new referral form and searches. Practices must also use a new service name on e-RS “NHS Digital Weight Management Programme – NHS England Version 2” which can be found using the post code search ST4 4LX. Practices have until June to switch to using the new referral template/searches.
Please see here for further information and to download the referral form.

In advance of the 2022-23 scheme release, all practices who participated in the scheme in 2021-22 have received Quarter 1 funding based on 21/22 quarter payments.

This is due to the scheme continuing in its 21-22 format for Quarter 1 and wanting to provide continuity of funding for Practices. Any changes to practices’ participation following the review of the Practice / PCN EOY reports and feedback will be discussed and managed individually.
