A special Mazel Tov to Ira (Yitzy) Jablon on his promotion at a recent NYPD Headquarters
ceremony, where he became the Special Assignment Lieutenant. Mazel Tov to his wife and entire family.
Lieutenant Jablon father is the well known Executive Vice President, Patient Relations; Special Assistant
to the President at Maimonides Hospital. Lieutenant Jablon receives many accolades from all ranks of the NYPD and the community he serves to care about for his professionalism and sincerity. He truly brings much pride to the badge, uniform and yarlmuka he wears.
I recently attended a number of functions and events where discussions of anti -Semitism and hatred
were the main issues and focus. It is sad how we continue to hear and read about anti Jewish comments made throughout the globe. For whatever the reasons are, we must continue to be mispallel to the Aibershta for the right directions to take. We must always remember we are the ambassadors making a Kiddush H to the best of our abilities. Most of all we must have achdus – togetherness. The RAA mission is to offer opportunities of goodness and kindness so that we can help each other and others as well. At one of those functions was a special meeting called upon by Mrs. Devorah Halberstam at the Jewish Museum in Crown Heights attended by Jewish communal leaders from throughout New York City including Rabbi Mirocznik and myself. It was an opportunity to be introduced to the incoming Police Commissioner the Honorable Dermot Shea. Mrs. Halberstam spoke passionately about her son ah who was killed by terrorists on the Brooklyn Bridge years ago and the need for the Jewish community to rally together for the sake of peace and tranquility with the tremendous support of the New York City Police Department. The new Commissioner shared his vision for the coming months and years of how the police department of all ranks and departments will continue to strive not only to reduce crime including acts of bias and hatred, but also to have continued good and positive relations with New Yorkers in all of our communities.
Once again, I am proud to announce another fantastic program being offered by TTI. ( See the attached ad). TTI has partnered with Genesis University to offer a Bachelors of Education and Religion and with yeshiva credits the cost of the tuition will come down in price. In addition it can be completed in as little as 3-6 months according to TTI. This degree can be used towards TTI Master in Education, Social Work or
ABA. TTI is only recommending it of students looking to go into Education in NY, or Social Work and ABA anywhere else across the country. Special discounts for RAA members. Please call 877RINGTTI for additional information. Remember, this is available for our members and adult children. For information about MS degree programs by YIEP, please contact Rabbi Duvid Katz Menahel of the RAA. I hope to be announcing other programs and events in the near future.
Hon. Michael Pompeo
Secretary of State
The United States Department of State
Harry S Truman Bldng 2201 C Street NW
Washington, DC 20520
Dear Mr. Secretary;
The Rabbinical Alliance of America/Igud Horabbonim notes with chagrin the appalling action of 106 members of the United States House of Representatives, all members of the Democratic party, who issued a letter to you as Secretary of State, calling into question your conduct of foreign policy as an officer of the executive branch, and who serves at the pleasure of the President.
No need to remind that the policy of previous administrations classifying Jewish settlement in their own ancestral homeland in the lands of Judea and Samaria as being an impediment to peace. Thus far that policy has not brought Israel’s enemies to the peace table.
The State of Israel has shown good faith time and again relinquishing territory won in wars that they wished not to engage. Such action is in stark contrast to other nations who have preemptively attacked their neighbors capturing lands with total disregard for the territorial integrity of those neighbor states.
Israel, America’s most reliable ally in that part of the world, stands besieged not only by some of the most violent of enemies, but now is being besieged by a large group of the peoples representatives who are of the view that it is they, the legislative branch who conduct America’s foreign policy.
Thank G-d for President Donald J. Trump and yourself, Mr. Secretary of State, who base your foreign policy on the true interests of The United States. Finally we are proud to proclaim that we have a president and a secretary of state who are G-d fearing, who acknowledge G-d’s Biblical promise that constitutes specifically the ancient connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.
May the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless the President and may G-d bless America.
Respectfully, I remain,
Rabbi Jacob Klass
Chairman, The Presidium,
Rabbinical Alliance of America
