Delaware Requests Town Dune Pole Input
Friday March 26, 2021: In what would be the first ever over-the-Dune-Line Metal Pole for Wifi in Dewey Beach, DenRec (the Delaware Department of Environmental Protection) is requesting public comments thru and including Monday March 29, 2021. We have set up a form for to rapidly respond to oppose the pole, with suggested points. The pole is planned for McKinley Street.
1. The proposed pole is a a blight to the beach and its Seascape, which is the character of Dewey.
2. The 38 ft proposed Metal painted pole would be visible on any part of the 1 mile long Dewey Beach, down to the waterline.
3. There is no need for additional Wifi service on the Beach to justify such an incursion in the natural environment that DenRec should defend.
4. If this Tllson Company pole is approved, it would give authority to countless numbers of other poles sought by the three telecom carriers, further spoiling beach, land and sky views.
Link to a form, which in 30 seconds will send a email to DenRec opposing the pole (feel free to use the above points and any others).
