Open House with the Rittles | Saturday, June 22, 1-5 pm
Robin and Pastor Matt invite you to the parsonage (6017 6th Street, N.). Snacks and cold beverages (water, lemonade, tea) will be provided. Bring a lawn chair. Be sure to wander the house to take in all the hard work the church has put into this home in preparation for our arrival. Come as your schedule allows. If the weather is not in our favor, we will bring our chairs inside! Contact Pastor Matt or Robin with questions. Thank you!

Save the Date | All Church Retreat
Shepherd's Spring has just been booked for our annual retreat. Save March 20-21 to join together in 2020.
Give + Volunteer

Doorways Collection Day | This Saturday, June 15, 10 am-2 pm
Volunteers (in pairs for hour shifts) are needed to staff ACOB’s donation table outside of Safeway on Harrison Street just north of Lee Highway. Doorways will furnish us with its wish list (normally diapers, paper goods and cleaning goods). Volunteers will give customers the opportunity to purchase these items for Doorways clients: women and families escaping domestic violence and homelessness. A volunteer is also needed to transport the donations to Doorways after the last shift. Contact
Marcia to volunteer.

Cereal for AFAC | Third Sunday is This Sunday
Each month on the third Sunday we have a special cereal collection during worship. Bring low-sugar cereal or cash donations to be a part of this effort to help our neighbors served at AFAC. Contact
Marcia with questions.

Travel Toiletries | Donate to ASPAN
Don't forget while on your summer travels to save the complimentary hotel soaps. Place them in the collection box in the office hallway to be donated to the
Arlington Street People's Assistance Network (ASPAN). Contact Marcia with questions.

You are a God who accepts the uniqueness and beauty of every individual. You love us as we are while you yearn for us to be more. You invite us to extend this kind of love to those who challenge our compassion and our patience. Your love within us will give us the strength to love them as we ought. May Your song of kindness be sung through us. #JoyceRupp #CallToWorship #ToGodWhoSingsThroughUs

May we find the courage, compassion and faith to step into those awkward moments, to trust that the call and the promise of unity in Christ is real. Let us not forget that our allegiance is to Jesus, the one in whom there exists no divisions and in whom there is no female or male, no slave nor free, no Jew nor gentile, no black nor white. #ACOBAmen #DunkerPunksPodcast #UnityInChristNotSegregationByColor
Unity in Christ, Not Segregation by Color | New! Dunker Punks Podcast

A lot has changed in American society since 1954 but it’s said that Sunday at 11 o’clock is still the most segregated hour. How do we challenge this stigma? Warrensburg Church of the Brethren and Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church are working on race relations in their small town and Christian communities by building new relationships with each other. Hear from Dana, Jerry, Christy, Morris, Christa, and David in the last episode before our new series begins! Pray. Call. Write.

Worship
Peter went from the guy who couldn’t figure out how to let Jesus wash his feet to the guy who could preach to a large crowd and have 3,000 people convert. And the Holy Spirit is still here on earth, moving, inspiring, directing, encouraging, comforting, and leading in new ways. So friends, what about our lives?

Listen to Sunday's Sermon: 🔊  "Did Peter Get a Haircut?"
Without the Spirit, Jesus remains a personage from the past; with the Spirit, he is a person alive and in our time. Without the Spirit the scripture is a dead letter, but with the Spirit it is a word of life. A Christianity without the Spirit is joyless moralism; with the spirit, it is life itself. #PopeFrancis #Pentecost
I invite you in your lifein our life togetherlisten closely. Recognize there is an empowerment and almost simplicity that can happen when the Spirit is moving in tandem with our actions. #DidPeterGetAHaircut? #SundaySermon #Pentecost #Installation
Let us give Pastor Matt our support, prayers and the freedom to be the person that God has uniquely created him to be. May we encourage him in the expression and use of his gifts; appreciate the heritage of the Church of the Brethren by recognizing the freedom of the pulpit; and exercise fairness and honesty and in all our agreements. Let us be partners, mutually seeking the truth, learning the way, and working together to build the Kingdom. #ACOBAmen #Installation
Loving God, we thank you for your Spirit, the presence of which we feel in a powerful way today. Keep your Spirit upon us and give us all the gifts that we need to work together and share your love with each other and all our communities. #ACOBAmen #Pentecost #Installation
