Dear ARMtech Agent:
We are pleased to announce ARMtech has agreed to aid in the delivery of prevented planting supplemental disaster payments recently announced by USDA as a part of the Additional Supplemental Appropriations for 2019 Disaster Relief Act and will soon be issuing checks to producers.
The Disaster Relief Act allows the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation to provide additional assistance to insureds who were prevented from planting eligible 2019 crop year crops in the 2019 calendar year due to certain causes of loss. Specifically, farmers who were prevented from planting due to excess precipitation, flood, storm surge, tornado, volcanic activity, tropical depressions, hurricanes, and cyclones may be eligible to receive a prevented planting supplemental disaster payment using these factors of the prevented planting indemnity:
- 15% for those producers with revenue protection except those who select the harvest price exclusion option.
- 10% for those producers who do not have revenue protection.
Even though prevented planting supplemental disaster payments will be based on prevented planting indemnities, RMA will determine the eligibility of each insured and the final payments for each eligible insured.
Once ARMtech receives confirmation of the final payment amounts from RMA, we will issue the prevented planting supplemental disaster checks immediately to our agents for distribution to farmers. We currently anticipate initial payments to be made the week of October 14th, if not before.
Below, please find links with additional information about the Disaster Relief Act, including ARMtech communication / procedural FAQs, portions of the Final Rule itself, and the USDA’s initial press release.
Anything we as an industry can do to aid our farmers in this time of need is meaningful, and this is our opportunity to do our part.
