Chortek's Sue Wolf, Mark Booth, and Gail Warren attended Sage Summit 2019, held in Atlanta, GA on May 13-15. We would like to share information from this event with you.
Overall, the Summit was a happy compromise between the large summits, which can get too big and impersonal at times, and the smaller Roadshow meet-ups. Sage has started focusing more on speakers who can add value to the customer for their business. Our main takeaways included information about Sage Production Management, Sage 100cloud Version 2019, Sage 100 integration with Office 365, and Sage Intelligence and Enterprise Intelligence, all detailed below.
During the welcome keynote, Sage discussed its purpose to "transform the way people think and work so their organizations can thrive," and its vision "to be a great SaaS company for our customers and colleagues alike." Sage discussed these ideas through three lenses: Customer success, colleague success, and innovation. They discussed cloud vs. on-premise trends, Sage's product focus, and the next generation of customers who expect next-generation experiences.
On Day 2 of the conference, attendees got to drive the conversation by submitting questions that were answered live during the "Sage Executives in the Hot Seat" panel presentation. Attendees also had a chance to learn more about various topics during breakout sessions during the event.
Sage Production Management
Sage Production Management, released May 14, 2019, gives discrete, make to stock manufacturers and fabricators the tools they need to achieve end-to-end visibility in their production process.
The release contains 70+ new features over what the Work Order module contained. It will replace Work Order, and eventually MRP, in Sage 100 v2019.
All existing Work Order clients will receive Production Management Make to Stock at no cost. Each perpetual Work Order license will receive the same number of standard user licenses as their existing Sage 100 user licenses and each subscription license will receive 3 standard user licenses by default. Standard user licenses allow access to all tasks in Production Management.
Shop Floor User licenses will be available in June 2019 at a reduced rate of $15/user. The licenses allow access to transactional tasks only (labor, material, and completion transactions) using remote devices. The Shop Floor Users will need Manufacturing Mobility for Barcode.
The Sage 100cloud Work Order module will continue to be compatible with Sage 100cloud versions 2019 through 2021. Existing Work Order clients can move to Production Management at any time. But, the move to Production Management is a system-wide change and the installation of Production Management will put Work Order into read-only mode for all companies.
A summary of key dates for Production Management
Purchase Agent will be Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), to be released at the end of June. This will only integrate with PO.
JOScan and WOScan migrate to MFG100. JOScan and WOScan will not be compatible for 2019.
JobOps Tech Dashboard was also released 5/14.
Work Order will no longer be sold after 5/14.
Work Order will still be compatible with Sage 100cloud through v2021, and support ends in 2022.
Shop Floor will be released by June 30, 2019.
