The Property Committee wants to keep you updated. Here are some of the items in motion:
New Building Key Project
After looking at previous records and assessing current needs, new building keys will be made for the people who fill positions that require access to the church building. Salaried positions include our minister, church secretary, custodian, music director, and organist. Appointed positions that require access include the treasurer, financial secretary, CYF leader, JYF leaders, chairperson of the board, vice-chairperson of the board, and trustees. Committee chairs will also receive a key; our functional committees are education, church life, membership, outreach, property, stewardship, and worship. Groups that will be issued a building key are CWF, Monday night AA, Monday morning Bible Study, Thursday evening Spiritual Group, and AARP (seasonally). If anyone has been omitted or if you have a special need that requires that you have a key (and your position is not on this list) please contact the current property chair, Vickie Rowland. The building is scheduled to have the new locks the first part of January
The lights in the bathroom are accidentally being left on when not in use so we are putting in motion sensor lights in the bathrooms. The switches have been donated and someone is working on putting them into the bathrooms. They will look something like this:
Outside fellowship hall on the top step, the end cap is off.
The boiler is having problems keeping the heat going throughout the building. We have a contract on the boiler and Blain Workman is working on the problem.
We are working on the history of the repairs that have been made on the building. Having a history will help us plan for the future as big ticket items need to be replaced.
We are working on a church safety plan. It is important for everyone in the congregation to know what to do in case of an emergency!
In the balcony, there is a crack we are watching.
We are thinking about fixing the wireless modem in the sanctuary.
The sidewalk to the parking lot drainage needs to be fixed. We are currently working with someone on this project.
Looking into and saving money for a new sound system.
