It is hard to believe we are moving full speed ahead into the winter months as summer passed in a dizzy blur of heatwaves and continued Covid-19 restrictions. Covid-19 has been a sustained challenge for us all and everyone at #Focus5 sincerely hopes that you and your loved ones have remained safe during this time. We have been reflecting on our service during the lockdown period and have produced a PDF to capture the thoughts of our team and young people. You can read this here.

During the summer, our key workers continued to make a difference to all the amazing young people we work with. We were delighted to see some of our young people move onto their next chapters, whilst welcoming new faces. We have even seen some new recruits to the #Focus5 family, and we welcome our new key worker for Exeter and East & Mid Devon, Vicci Wood. Vicci is a perfect fit for #Focus5 and she comes with 20 yearsā€™ experience in supporting young people move forward in their lives. Click here to find out more about Vicci and the rest of our marvellous team.

We expect it will take a long time before we are back to business as usual, however, where there is a strong need (and where it is completely safe) our key workers can engage in face-to-face meetings with their young people. Whilst we cannot guarantee a pure #Focus5 experience we are very much open to referrals from all areas. We are looking for a little extra boost from Plymouth, Torbay and South and North Devon.

The #Focus5 team have been working hard on sustainable practises as we engage with the Green Impact initiative. Green Impact is a United Nations award-winning programme designed to support environmentally and socially sustainable practice in any organisation and we have created a new section to our website to capture our hard work. You can check that out here.

Below you can catch up on some key stories and statistics about #Focus5 from the summer months. Stay safe!
