Telehealth Network Grant Kickoff Webinar - Recording Available!
Thank you for joining us on Thursday, September 24 as we formally kickoff the grant and our technical assistance work with you. Telehealth Network Grant Program: Year 1 PIMS Reporting Webinar
Please save-the-date for Wednesday, October 7 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET to learn all there is to know about preparing for and completing your grant’s programmatic data reporting requirements for the Performance Improvement Measurement System (PIMS). Representatives from HRSA/FORHP and your technical assistance team will be present and share information on specific measures, overview of the reporting process, and insights and resources to support your data collection efforts.
Year 1 PIMS Baseline Reporting
Begins on November 2, 2020 for all TNGP grantees. Baseline data will cover the first 60 days of the project period (9/1/2020 - 10/31/2020)
Kickoff of Technical Assistance (TA) Activities
A few friendly reminders of what to expect in the coming days and weeks as we begin working with you.
Introductory TA Intake Calls- These will be scheduled for October. Be on the lookout in the coming days for an email from your TA Consultant to schedule this. These calls are used to kickoff the work together, learn more about your efforts, early challenges/barriers, and any support needs as you get started. An initial Technical Assistance Action Plan will be drafted after this call.
Monthly Calls - At the end of the intake call we will establish a monthly TA call schedule with you and your Project Officer.
TNGP Grantee Directory - In October, we will distribute a template for you to complete for the directory. This document will provide a brief snapshot of each of the TNGP grantees in your cohort and is a useful resource for connecting and learning about other programs.
RESOURCES & OTHER UPDATES
October 9 Comments Requested: The Role of Telehealth in Improving Quality and Access to Care– The Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee requests public input on the role that telehealth can play in new physician payment models. This committee reviews and recommends payment models proposed by the public to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and they have posed several questions in this RFI to improve their understanding of how telehealth is used in value-based care and how it can be improved. Email comments to PTAC@HHS.gov.
October 23 Comments Requested: Modifications to the Definition of Rural for FORHP Grants–The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) proposed modifications to the definition of 'rural' used of designate areas to be eligible for its rural health grants. The proposed definitions are based on a data-driven methodology that will allow community organizations serving rural populations within metro areas to access services provided using grant funds.
The Telehealth.HHS.gov website provides information about the latest federal efforts to support and promote telehealth services. It was built by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Telehealth Consent Form
AHRQ has created a sample telehealth consent form that is easy to understand. The form includes language for healthcare providers that have curtailed in-person visits due to COVID-19. AHRQ has also created how-to guidance for clinicians on how to obtain informed consent for telehealth.

This presentation will describe background on current challenges with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment access and delivery and present evidence for telemedicine for SUD treatment based on a recent systematic review published by the speaker and describe gaps in the research knowledge to date.
October 15, 2020 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST Telehealth Considerations and Strategies for Special and Vulnerable Populations
This webinar will focus on strategies to reach and serve special and vulnerable populations using telehealth. Special and vulnerable populations include Migratory, Seasonal, and Agricultural Workers (MSAW), Older Adults, people experiencing homelessness, people with limited english proficiency, and rural communities with limited access to broadband. Presenters will discuss building the awareness, knowledge, and ability of both patients and health center staff to successfully use telehealth to meet the needs of these important groups. They will also be sharing how telehealth promotes health equity and increases overall access to quality healthcare for special and vulnerable populations.

November 12 - 13, 2020 SEARCH 2020 National Telehealth Research Symposium - VIRTUAL The National Telehealth Research Symposium will showcase connected health efforts, strategies, and partnerships, specifically those that focus on the research of telemedicine, telehealth, eHealth, mHealth, and other healthcare technologies.
This event is hosted by SEARCH, the Society for Education and Advancement in Research in Connected Health. SEARCH is pleased to be collaborating with several organizations this year including: SPROUT, (Supporting Pediatric Research on Outcomes and the Utilization of Telehealth), MUSC COE (Medical University of South Carolina – Center of Excellence), The National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers, UMMC COE (The University of Mississippi Medical Center – Center of Excellence), and the UAMS Translational Research Institute.
