Dr. Angelos Bekiaris elected new Chairman of EURNEX

At the General Assembly in Berlin on the 13.06.2019 the election of the new Council Chairperson took place. Angelos Bekiaris was elected unanimously as council chairman for a three year term in office. We welcome Dr. E. Bekiaris to EURNEX!

Dr. E. Bekiaris, PhD on Mechanical Engineering NTUA, has been elected as Researcher of the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) in 2001; being its Director General as of 2016. Since 1992 he has participated in over 120 research projects, in 40 of which at the role of Overall or Technical Coordinator.
He’s the National representative of Greece in the H2020 Transport Committee since 2014 and President of the European Conference of Transport Research Institutes (ECTRI) and the European Rail Research Network of Excellence since 2019. In the past he’s also been the President of the European Associations FERSI (on road safety) and HUMANIST (on Human Factors in Transport).

At the General Assembly Eurnex also gave thanks to  Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Hecht, for the thoughtful and inspiring management of the association during six years as Chairman of the EURNEX Council.

New Projects

For the moment the Eurnex entity is active in differente projects. In the end of 2018 beginning of 2019 a couple of new projects among the Eurnex members where launched.

2019 started out with 31 members and we are hoping to grow even more. The strength and core of EURNEX is of course it’s members. There for it is of great importance for us that we present you correctly on our web page.
