Filter questions?
Each of our masks comes with a set of filters. After research and testing, we decided to make them out of sterilization fabric, a material used to steam-clean surgical instruments. It is a type of polypropylene with an impressive ability to block the virus.
When you receive a Masks of Love mask, insert the filter into the pocket between the layers, center it, and open it up flat. You can reuse the filter by first disinfecting it with heat: remove from the mask, put filter only in a low temperature oven, at 165 degrees, and let "cook" for 30 minutes. Lay flat while cooling.
Keep in mind that the masks have some efficacy without the filters, and that proper use of the mask is the key to it's efficacy.
Sewers do not need to provide filters for the masks they make. Filters are added to orders in the shipping department. For now, filters are not available separately in the Mask store.
